Authentic handmade Nagaland Warrior Head Hunter Chief Talisman Amulet Necklace expertly hand crafted by artisans of the Khiamniungan tribe in Southern Nagaland. This piece dates back to the 1950's. I got it in Nagaland a few years ago. This is an authentic Naga amulet necklace worn by warrior head hunters chiefs. Up until as recently as the 1960's tribal warriors in Nagaland took heads as trophies during war party raids and
feuds
. Necklaces such as this were worn as a sign that the warrior chiefs power and status. This is not a reproduction and w
as actually worn. Finding and procuring rare Nagaland artifacts such as this head hunter necklace is increasingly difficult.  Not only is it difficult to get to Nagaland, but it is still a very dangerous place for Westerners to travel through and the terrain is very difficult as well. I definitely do not recommend traveling there unless you are a real adventurer who can rough it for a long period of time without any of the comforts of home... mobile phones included.
