These African Carnelian Agate Trade Beads date back to circa 1900 if not earlier. The beads you see in the photos are the ones you’ll get.
The colors in these beads runs from a rusty red in flat lighting to a beautiful rusty orange glow when light hits them,almost like they have a life of their own.
These beautiful old carnelian beads were found in Nigeria, Cut in Bombay and traded to Africa through the old trade routes. Increasingly hard to find.
Measurements:
Carnelian beads approximately 13mm by 18mm.
Russian amazonite beads are approximately 6mm- 9mm.
The 7 NAGA ancient brass trumpets measure approximately 3.2 cm long.
The beads have traveled at least three continents, and have graced numerous owners. Small chips, corrosion, and pitting are a normal part of their patina attesting to their age and extensive use.
The total length of the necklace is 25” and has a large lobster claw clasp closure.
