ANTIQUE CHINESE EMBROIDERED FAN 1923 WITH BLACK LAQUERED BOX HAND PAINTED INSIDE

Description

This is a Chinese fan in a box.
The box is black lacquered.
There is sticker on the end in Chinese that probably has a description of fan and maybe the price.
On the backside is another sticker.
It says.  HIPTATSING.  EXPORTERS OF DEALER IN ALL KIND SILK EMBROIDERED FANS.  CANTON CITY CHINA.
It is white with red lettering.
The box is 10 inches long.  It has a latch that works and two hinges that work fine.
There is some gold on the top that shows a bird in some branches.
The box is lined with brown paper in the bottom half.
The top half is paper that has been painted with a bird and flowers in green, red, white and black paint or ink.
Also there is some writing in black ink on the left side.
This was a gift.
It says TO something something HOLMES.
Cannot read the second line.
The third line I can see XMAS 1923.
I cannot read the 4th line.
The fan is 8 and 5/8ths inches long.
It has a string with tassels on it.  Also another tag.  Again, in Chinese.
The fan supports could be made of bone.  I am no expert on these.
There are a couple of broken supports.  They are carved with a design on the bottom half.
The cloth is white and has been embroidered with white silk flowers and a bird.
It opens fine, a couple of supports are broken or twisted.  And it folds up just fine.
